The IGNOU hall ticket for the December 2026 term-end exam (TEE) will be released on the IGNOU website before the exams begin on 25 November 2026. As of 2 November 2026 it was not yet out; IGNOU's revised date sheet says hall tickets for eligible students will be available soon. The theory exams run from 25 November 2026 to 14 January 2027.
IGNOU hall ticket December 2026: release and download
IGNOU's revised tentative date sheet for the December 2026 TEE, dated 30 October 2026, says the hall tickets of eligible students will be available on the University website soon. It asks students to visit ignou.ac.in regularly, download their hall ticket and follow the instructions printed on it.
Watch the IGNOU notices page and the homepage for the December 2026 hall ticket link.
Open it only from ignou.ac.in. Unofficial sites copy IGNOU's look and some ask for payments.
Download the hall ticket and check your name, enrolment number, programme, the courses listed and the exam centre address.
Compare the courses on it with the ones you selected in your exam form. If one is missing, contact your regional centre before the exam, not on the day.
Print it and read the instructions printed on it, which tell you what to carry and when to report.
IGNOU date sheet December 2026
The date sheet is a course-code timetable, not a personal one, so you find your own course codes in it. The version that counts is the revised tentative date sheet for ODL and online programmes dated 30 October 2026. GOAL and E-Vidya Bharti (EVBB) learners have separate date sheets on the same notices page.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| First exam day | Wednesday, 25 November 2026 |
| Last exam day | Thursday, 14 January 2027 |
| Morning session | 10 AM to 1 PM |
| Evening session | 2 PM to 5 PM |
| Paper duration | As printed on each question paper; some papers are shorter than three hours |
| Practicals for PGDLAN, BLIS and MLIS | Date and venue from your regional centre |
IGNOU calls the date sheet tentative and has revised it once already, so download the current PDF from the notices page close to your exam and keep a copy. The disclaimer asks learners to retain their copy of the current date sheet.
Clashes and date change requests
If two of your courses fall on the same date and time, the date sheet explains why and when nothing will change. For the old BDP programme, courses in the same group are held together on purpose. The same applies to CBCS and four-year undergraduate (FYUP) disciplines grouped together, since you can pick only one discipline per group. IGNOU says no request for a change of date will be entertained in these cases. A genuine clash outside these rules is one to raise with your regional centre straight away.
Who can write the December 2026 exam
A hall ticket does not settle your eligibility on its own. The date sheet says permission to appear is provisional and subject to these conditions:
Your registration for the courses is valid and not time-barred.
You have submitted the required assignments by the due date, where applicable. For December 2026 that date was 31 October 2026.
You have completed the minimum time to pursue those courses under your programme's rules.
You have paid the exam fee for every course you are writing.
If any condition is not met, the result of those courses will not be declared. Check your IGNOU assignment status and your registration before exam day, while there is still time to sort out a problem.
IGNOU exam centre: changes and reporting
You chose your exam centre in the exam form. The date sheet warns that a centre can change at the last minute because of unavoidable circumstances, and that IGNOU will take remedial measures for the students affected. Stay in touch with your regional centre in the days before each paper, and check the centre address on your hall ticket again the night before.
Rules on language and objective papers
Language: answers are accepted only in the language or languages your programme is offered in. You may still write in Hindi medium even if you registered in English, except in language programmes.
Bengali: learners in CRD, PGDRD and MARD can write in Bengali from the June 2024 TEE onwards, for the courses listed in the date sheet.
Objective papers: some courses use an MCQ and OMR pattern. The date sheet lists them, including BSHF101 and FST01 for BDP, BTS, BCA and BSW learners, BEVAE181 and BSSS183 for CBCS bachelor's programmes, and DECE01 to DECE03 for DECE.
Descriptive exception: BNS041 and BNS042 are written in descriptive form.
After the exam
Results come out on IGNOU's term-end result portal, and your grade card updates separately, sometimes weeks later. Our IGNOU grade card guide explains how to read it and what to do if marks are missing. Missed this exam cycle? The IGNOU exam form guide covers what happens next, and the IGNOU re-registration guide explains how to keep your registration valid. Programme options and fees are on the IGNOU institute page.
