Hotel management course fees depend mostly on the kind of institute. For the official B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration taught at the Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs), the NCHM JEE 2026 brochure puts tuition at Rs 3.00 lakh to Rs 5.00 lakh for the whole six-semester programme. Private universities running BHM or BHMCT degrees set their own fees, so you have to compare them one by one.

IHM fees: the year-wise break-up at IHM Faridabad
The NCHM brochure gives a range because the 82 institutes it lists (21 central, 33 state, 25 private, 1 PSU-owned and 2 run under PPP) do not all charge the same. Two details in that notice matter when you budget. The first-semester amount includes an Rs 8,000 caution deposit that is refundable. And the totals leave out hostel and mess charges and a separate Rs 3,000 a year for minor items such as the ID card and locker. The notice also says fees are non-refundable apart from the caution money and that NCHMCT may revise them.
What else you pay beyond tuition
The brochure lists charges apart from tuition: an admission fee, an NCHMCT enrolment fee, a university fee for the JNU degree, an examination fee charged each semester and refundable caution money. Add the cost of living, because a hotel management degree is a campus course with kitchen practicals and hotel training.
Hostel and mess, if you are studying outside your home city.
Uniforms, knife kits and chef's whites for practical classes, which institutes usually specify.
Travel and stay for industrial training, if the training hotel is in another city.
Entrance test fee for NCHM JEE and counselling registration.
Ask each institute for a single sheet that shows every instalment for all six semesters. If a private college cannot give you that, treat it as a warning.
How you get an IHM seat: eligibility and NCHM JEE
You need a pass in 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board, with English as one of the subjects, and there is no age bar. The NCHM JEE 2026 brochure says the National Testing Agency conducts the exam as a computer-based test of 120 marks, and that NCHMCT runs online counselling that allots seats on merit and choice.

English carries 45 of the 120 marks, so it is the section to practise most. Students from any stream, including arts students looking at options after 12th, can apply because the rule asks for English, not a particular stream.
Some IHMs also fill leftover seats through a written test run by NCHMCT. IHM Faridabad's January 2026 notice says admission for its residual vacancies was by such a test, so watch each institute's page after counselling closes.
BHM, BHMCT and diploma fees: how to compare
Beyond the IHM route, hotel management is taught in other degrees. Total programme fee for every year, not only the first instalment.
Which body awards the degree or diploma, and whether it is recognised.
Number of weeks of industrial training and whether the hotel pays a stipend.

Is a hotel management degree worth the fee?
It is a fair bet if you like people-facing work, long shifts and practical training. A three-year IHM degree at about Rs 3.4 lakh, as at Faridabad, is cheaper than many private programmes, but it is not free of risk: pay depends on the employer, city and role, and it rises slowly with experience. Do not pay for a promise of placement. Ask the institute for the training hotels it uses and speak to a recent graduate.
