NALSAR Distance Education

NALSAR distance education covers specialist legal study through the university's Centre for Distance and Online Education, known as CDOE. The published portfolio includes master's programmes, Advanced Diplomas and separate short online courses. NALSAR University of Law was established in 1998 and is based at Justice City, Shameerpet, near Hyderabad in Telangana.

Choose the exact award before comparing admission routes. An MA, an Advanced Diploma and a short course certificate serve different study goals. They should not be described as an LL.B. or treated as qualifications that independently authorise legal practice.

Distance education law courses

The distance portal lists two-year MA programmes in Aviation Law and Air Transport Management, Maritime Laws, and Criminal Law and Forensic Science. Other listed fields include International Taxation and Corporate Law. Published Advanced Diploma options include Cyber Laws, Patents Law, Media Laws, dispute resolution, contract drafting and labour law.

The portal separately archives PG Diploma programmes through academic year 2020-21. Its later catalogue uses the title Advanced Diploma. Check the award printed in the current admission notice rather than assuming an older PG Diploma page describes today's qualification.

Eligibility and learning arrangements

The published Cyber Laws Advanced Diploma rules accept a recognised bachelor's degree or equivalent. They also describe routes for final-year students and those completing three years of a five-year integrated degree. Those applicants must meet the applicable document conditions. Other programmes can have additional entry routes, so verify their own regulations.

Cyber Laws materials describe reading resources, recorded classes and personal contact sessions in blended mode. They state that examinations take place physically in Hyderabad. Distance study therefore does not mean every assessment can be completed from home. Confirm the latest schedule, attendance requirements and travel arrangements for your programme.

Distance PG diploma fees and dated examples

The application portal still links to a 2023-24 admission notification. That notice quotes ₹30K for the one-year Advanced Diploma in Cyber Laws and ₹40K per year for the two-year MA in Maritime Laws. These are historical programme-specific examples, not verified 2026 fees.

The notice lists separate charges for continuation, repeat examinations, certificate issue and campus stays where applicable. Obtain the current fee notice before calculating your budget. Campus LL.B. fees should not be substituted for a distance diploma price.

Short online courses and 2026 admission

A separate 2026 notice advertises Indian Electricity Law with NALSAR and the Administrative Staff College of India. It lists a ₹10K course fee, 16 hours of live online sessions across two November weekends, and a joint certificate. Its eligible audience includes undergraduate students and relevant professionals.

The notice gives a tentative application deadline of 18 November 2026. This date applies only to that short course. It does not establish that distance MA or Advanced Diploma admissions are open. Check updates with CDOE and retain the specific notice, application and payment receipt.
