Madurai Kamaraj University was established in 1966 through a bill that was passed by the State Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. The university is approved by the UGC(University Grants Commission). This University offers a variety of courses in various disciplines, it offers 41 postgraduate courses, 35 M.Phil, 17 Diploma or PG Diplomas or certificate courses, and 66 undergraduate courses, 45 postgraduation courses by affiliated colleges. Currently, more than 2428 students/ learners and researchers are a part of the University, with 163 research projects. This University has many facilities like a central library that is equipped with 3 lakh+ books, 15,000 journals, and many other e-books.
