Jammu University Distance Education Courses, Fees 2026

Yes. The University of Jammu is approved by UGC and accredited NAAC A++, so its distance and online programmes are recognised. Even so, confirm the approval status of your chosen programme with the university before you apply, as recognition rules for distance learning can be updated.

Listed programmes include B.A., B.Com and M.Com, plus M.A. in Urdu, English, Hindi, Sociology, Dogri, Political Science and Economics. A PGDBM programme is also mentioned. Availability can change by session, so check the latest prospectus or ask a counsellor before choosing a programme.

Register on the official university website to get login credentials, then open the admission portal and fill in the online application. Attach the required documents and submit. UGC guidelines also require an ABC ID and DEB ID. Intakes are generally July or August and January or February.

Assessment has two parts. Internal assessment, based on assignments and tasks given at the start of each term, carries roughly 20 to 30 percent of the marks. The remaining weightage comes from the end-term examination. Check the official notices for exam dates and centres.

Personal contact programmes are optional for undergraduate and postgraduate courses, but they are compulsory for the PGDBM programme. Even where optional, attending them is a good idea because they help you follow difficult topics and clear doubts with faculty during your distance programme.

The university does not offer loans or EMIs itself. Learners can look at government scholarships meant for minority or specially-abled students. On careers, the university says it guides learners to upskill, and lists recruiters such as Airtel, Bosch, Dabur, EY and Fractal. No placement rate is claimed.
