IIT Patna is among the newly formed members of the IIT family and it was founded on 6 August 2008, through the Act of the Indian Parliament. IIT Patna is a public research institute that is located in Patna, Bihar. IITs are recognised by the Government of India as Institutions of National Importance. IIT Patna is among the second-generation IITs. IIT Patna provides advanced and quality education along with adequate skills. The students work on innovative ideas and are encouraged to work in the direction of research and innovative creations. The campus of IIT Patna is spread over 501 acres of land at Bihta which is just 30 km away from the west of Patna.
