AU distance education is the open learning route of Andhra University, one of India's oldest universities, set up in 1926 and based in Visakhapatnam. Andhra University distance education is run through its School of Distance Education and lets learners study undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate programmes without attending a campus every day. AU Distance Education Courses and Specialisations

The School of Distance Education lists degree programmes across arts, commerce, science and management. Undergraduate options include B.Com and several B.A. and B.Sc. combinations, each of 3 years. Postgraduate options include M.A. in English, Hindi, Telugu, Philosophy, Economics, History, Political Science, Public Administration and Sociology, M.Com, M.Sc. in subjects such as Psychology, Botany, Zoology, Physics and Organic Chemistry, plus M.B.A. (3 years), Executive MBA, M.H.R.M, M.C.A. and MJMC (2 years each). PG diplomas and music diploma or certificate programmes are also listed. Learners choose one programme at a time.

How Learning Works

Course content follows UGC guidelines. A bachelor's programme can be finished in 3 years and up to 6 years, while a master's takes 2 years and up to 4 years. Self-learning material is provided in print and soft copy; print copies need a special request. Exams are held regularly, learners can choose an examination centre, and assignments and projects support continuous assessment. After admission, a learner portal gives access to fee, exam date and result information.

Admission opens twice a year: the academic year batch (July to June) and the calendar year batch (January to December). Steps are simple: pick a programme, check eligibility, apply online on the official admission website, upload documents, pay the fee online and wait for verification. You will also need an ABC ID and DEB ID as per UGC guidelines. Visiting the campus is not required to apply.

AU DDE Fees, Affordability and Support
