Based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, GTU has operations through six zones that also cover Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Rajkot, Surat and Bhuj. The effort includes over 480 colleges that provide a variety of disciplines such as engineering, architecture, management, pharmacy and computer science. At present, there are approximately 400,000 students studying at the university in diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs.
The university aims to foster outstanding educational and research institutions on its premises and at those partnered by it, all using teaching methods and facilities designed to meet national and international standards. GTU tries to create facilities and resources that develop knowledge, abilities and skills in multiple areas of education. The institution also supports the development of innovators, entrepreneurs and professionals by using research-based teaching and by collaborating with both academic, industry and government partners.
