S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai, offers two flagship programmes: the PGDM and the PGDM (Business Management). Both are two-year, full-time residential programmes built around academic rigour, industry engagement, peer learning and experiential learning. It is a PGDM rather than an MBA by name, and the PGDM is described as equivalent to an MBA. It is built for freshers and early-career professionals who want a top-tier Mumbai business school and can commit to a full-time campus programme. Fees and Payment
SPJIMR lists the PGDM fee for Indian participants at ₹24,86,000, and ₹34,77,500 for international participants. Both figures are indicative and subject to revision, and the Global Fast Track and International Exchange components are optional. The fee covers tuition and basic hostel accommodation. The application fee is ₹2,500, or ₹4,000 if you apply to both PGDM and PGDM (BM). Budget for food, travel and personal expenses on top. Many portals quote different totals, so talk to a Career Bhavan counsellor to confirm the current fee before you apply. PGDM FAQs +2
Programme Structure
The PGDM has 240 seats for Indian nationals and 36 for foreign nationals, OCIs and PIOs, while the PGDM (BM) has an annual intake of 120. You can state your programme preferences in a single application form. Some portals also report functional specialisations within the PGDM, so ask the admissions team which options are open to your batch. Unlike online or blended MBAs, this is a campus-based programme, so you cannot work full-time alongside it. For a working-professional format, see our guide to MBA for working professionals.
Eligibility and Admission
You need a bachelor's degree of at least three years with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, from a recognised university. The PGDM accepts CAT and GMAT scores, and shortlisting also looks at your academic record, work experience, versatility and achievements. Freshers and candidates with up to 5 years of work experience can apply. Final-year students are also eligible on some portals, so check the official page. This is a test-based admission, so start preparing early. See MBA entrance exams in India and the MBA admission process.
2026–27 Dates and the Next Intake
Applications for the 2027–29 batch opened on September 15, 2026 and close on November 27, 2026. The programme starts in June each year, and CAT scores from the same year as your application are accepted, including the November 2026 exam. Applications are open now, so check the SPJIMR listing on Career Bhavan and apply before the deadline.
Who Should Consider It
This programme suits freshers and early-career professionals who want strong industry exposure, a Mumbai campus and a full-time residential experience. It is a poor fit if you have more than 5 years of experience, need to keep working, or want a low-cost option. Placement outcomes vary by year, and portals report different averages, so check SPJIMR's official placement report rather than relying on a headline figure.
