Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University known as YCMOU, short, was established on 1st July 1989 through the Maharashtra State Legislature Act. The University is beautifully located in an area of 147 acres near Gangapur Dam close to Nasik City. The campus is close to nature surrounded by lush green areas. The University is also known by the name ‘Dnyangangotri’, which means river of knowledge. This is approved by the University Grants Commission Act. Known to be the 5th Open University of India, the university offers affordable courses to students.
