Punjabi University was established in 1962 and is today located in Patiala, Punjab by Former Indian President Dr S. Radhakrishnan. The University is set in a lush green place that is free from pollution, in an area of 316 acres. The University became an affiliating university in 1969 and has been affiliated with more than 43 colleges. The University offers a wide variety of study programs to students in the fields of Humanities, Science, Engineering languages, technology, and many more. They offer undergraduate, and postgraduate diplomas, research programs & certificate courses in many disciplines. Currently, the University has 27 regional centers that facilitate the distance education mode, with 274 colleges affiliated with Punjabi University. It is known to be one of the premier universities of India, is the largest University in the state, and has been accredited with an A+ grade by NAAC, With constant efforts it is promoting the language, culture, and literature of Punjabi language. The team of faculty members is highly qualified and educated, which shapes its way of teaching with the need of time. They make sure to move along with the changing societal needs and market.
