About LPU Online

LPU Online is the online learning arm of Lovely Professional University, a private university in Jalandhar, Punjab, established in 2005. It lets graduates, school leavers and working professionals earn a UGC-entitled degree without moving or leaving their jobs. The university holds a NAAC A++ grade with a CGPA of 3.68 and is listed in NIRF. For 2026-27, the UGC Distance Education Bureau lists 13 of its programmes as entitled for full online delivery.

Courses and specialisations

The online portfolio covers management, computer applications, commerce, arts and science. At postgraduate level you can choose an MBA (single or dual specialisation), MCA, M.Com, M.Sc or MA. At undergraduate level there are BBA, BCA and BA degrees. One-year diplomas in business administration and computer applications are also available.

The MBA offers 12 specialisations, such as finance, marketing, human resources, business analytics, data science and analytics, operations, supply chain, international business and healthcare management. The MCA includes options such as cyber security, data science and game development. The MA covers English, history, political science and sociology. The M.Sc covers economics, mathematics and data science.

Fees as of October 2026

For the MBA, the listed fee includes an exam fee of ₹2,000 a semester and excludes a one-time registration fee. The university often runs a student grant for a limited period. In October 2026, a 20% grant brought the MBA to ₹40,400 a semester. No-cost EMI is offered, and education loans with tenures from 6 to 24 months are available. How online learning works

Classes run on the university's own learning management system (LMS), which also works as a mobile app. Live sessions let you talk to faculty in real time, and every lecture is recorded so you can revisit it. For the MBA, live lectures run at weekends, with master classes by industry experts and an industry-oriented curriculum. Study material includes case studies, scholarly articles and journals.

Exams are held online and are remotely proctored with AI tools. You can write them from home with a stable internet connection, a computer, a camera and a microphone.

How to apply

1. Pick your programme and check its eligibility on the course page.
2. Create your ABC ID and DEB ID, which UGC requires for online admission.
3. Register online, fill in the application and upload your documents.
4. Pay the first semester fee in full or through EMI.
5. Wait for document verification and your LMS login.

Admission is based on your qualifying marks, with no entrance test. New batches start every six months, around July or August and January or February.

Career support

Learners get career mentorship for placement drives, resume workshops, interview sessions and mock interviews. There is also an incubator if you want to start your own venture. The university states that it works with 500+ hiring partners, but outcomes are not guaranteed.
