The Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT Tirupati) is an autonomous institution that works under the Government of India (Ministry of Education). IIT Tirupati was declared an Institute of National Importance under the act of the Parliament of India (Institutes of Technology Act, 1961). IIT Tirupati was established in 2015 and it is situated in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Initially, IIT Madras, IIT Tirupati is the fastest growing third-generation institute. The foundation of the IIT Tirupati was led by Smriti Irani (Unioin minister), M.Venkaiah Naidu (Former Vice President of India), and N. Chandrababu Naidu (Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh). In 2015, IIT Tirupati started operating, and the first batch of the B.Tech program was commenced students were enrolled in civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science, and all these programs were conducted at the temporary campus of Tirupati Renigunta Road, but rest of the campus activities were shifted to its permanent campus situated in Merlapaka Village on Yerpedu Venkatagiri, that was provided by the government of Andhra Pradesh.
