Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, is an autonomous institute that is located in Uttarakhand. It was established in the year 1847 and named Thomas College of Civil Engineering. This is known as the Oldest Technical Institute of Asia. The Institute is located in Haridwar District and is spread over 358.5 acres of land in Roorkee.
