IIT Goa snapshot
Indian Institute of Technology Goa was established by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), Government of India in 2016. IIT Goa Online is a young member of the IIT family and it is among a few IITs that were established in 2016, but the central government allotted IIT to Goa in 2014 and in 2016 IIT Goa started functioning under the temporary campus of Goa Engineering College (GEC). The Campus of IIT Goa Online is situated in Farmagudi, Goa and currently, it is offering multiple undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in different specializations. There are 7+ schools of study at the IIT Goa Online campus that offer globally recognized education in their relevant field. For the initial three years, IIT Goa was under the mentorship of IIT Bombay. Human Resource Development (HRD) has set up a dedicated IIT monitoring cell under the main campus of IIT Bombay with well-trained faculty members on special duty to monitor and look after the IIT Goa and the process of setting it up.
