Indian Institute of Management of Shillong (IIM Shillong) is the 7th management institute that was founded in India. This university was established in 2007 by the Union of Human Resource Management (HRD) and the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (MDONER). IIM S

The vision of IIM Shillong is to become a globally recognized management studies platform with the heart of Indian values. On the way to fulfilling this vision, IIM Shillong is one of the management institutes that not only impart knowledge but also emphasizes having strong values that are important for the sustainable development of the country.

IIM Shillong offers a range of course programs that focus on improving the quality of education and from that perspective, the university has included a post-graduate program (PGP), a post-graduate program for executives (PGPEx), a post-graduate program for working professionals (PGP Working Executive), a doctoral program, a doctoral program for working professionals, management development programs (MDPs), and faculty development programs (FDPs). Apart from these programs, several certificate programs have also been introduced in the course list of IIM Shillong.

IIM Shillong has international tie-ups with some foreign universities. Students enrolled in the regular mode under different programs are eligible to attend the student exchange program. However, students pursuing online courses are only restricted to campus visits of the University.

All the students enrolled at IIM Shillong for online courses have access to the LMS portal which is accessible at any time from anywhere. If a student missed online classes then he/she can access the recorded lectures from the LMS portal.

The admission process for online courses is not fixed as a general procedure. For some courses, the university takes entrance exams and PIs while for others direct admission is possible. Admission to some executive programs is also based on CAT/MAT/GMAT scores.

Post Graduate Certification in Human Resource Management and in Advanced General Management are the certification courses offered by IIM Shillong. Some executive certificate programs in six sigma with green belt, logistics & supply chain management analytics, Project Management for IT and Non-IT, Digital HRM, Social Media Marketing & Analytics, Corporate finance, & Business Analytics are also offered by the university.
