Check approval before you join an online diploma
An online PG diploma is only as useful as its approval. Check two things:
- From a university: UGC's ODL and online regulations say postgraduate diplomas awarded online by universities recognised under them are equivalent to the same awards from regular study. Check the university on the UGC Distance Education Bureau website.
- Under AICTE: AICTE's Approval Process Handbook 2024-27 applies its ODL and online guidelines to postgraduate diploma programmes in management and logistics. It says no institution may offer a course under AICTE's purview in ODL or online mode without AICTE approval.
Ask the institute in writing which approval covers your programme, and keep a copy.
