Master of Philosophy or MA Philosophy: which one is this?
The phrase "master of philosophy" usually points to one of two things. The M.Phil (Master of Philosophy) is a research degree taken after a master's, historically done between an MA and a PhD. The MA Philosophy, or Master of Arts in Philosophy, is the standard two-year taught postgraduate course covered on this page.
